Concrete and carpentry in Burnaby
We work across Burnaby on footings, slabs, steps, walls, foundations and driveways, along with decks and fences.
Burnaby's retaining wall line is twice Maple Ridge's, and the City wants decks permitted, so check its rules before you plan.

Burnaby permit lines
What the City of Burnaby asks for, in plain words, with the City's own document linked. Rules change, so we confirm them for your job before giving you an estimate.
Retaining walls
A permit is needed for a wall over 1.2 m (3.94 ft), any terraced wall over 1.2 m, or terracing steeper than 1:1. Those walls need a registered professional engineer, and a formwork or location inspection before the concrete.

Retaining Walls →Decks and accessory buildings
Burnaby says any construction of “any building or structure including accessory and temporary buildings requires a permit”, and treats deck expansions as additions. We confirm with the City for your project.

Concrete Footings & Piers →Driveways
A driveway crossing needs Engineering Department approval, applied for on its own or as part of a building permit.
