New concrete walkway beside curved wall forms on a riverside site in Vancouver

Commercial Curbs, Ramps & Pads

Concrete for commercial properties, done without closing the lot

For property managers, stratas and small-business owners: curbs, pads, ramps, pole bases and sidewalk panels, poured to the drawings and staged so tenants and customers still get in.

Commercial jobs we take

Parking curbs and curb and gutter

Poured curbs formed in place, or precast wheel stops placed and pinned. Damaged runs are broken out and matched to what's there.

Dumpster, transformer and equipment pads

A dumpster pad takes truck loads, a transformer pad follows the utility's drawing, and an equipment pad follows the supplier's. Enclosures add walls, gate posts and bollard footings.

Bollard, sign and light-pole bases

Bases sized to the supplier's or engineer's drawing, with conduit and anchor bolts cast in. In Maple Ridge, underground electrical is inspected before the concrete goes over it.

Commercial sidewalks and trip hazards

A heaved or broken panel is removed and re-poured, and the cause (roots or a washed-out base) dealt with so the new panel doesn't lift again.

For property managers

Tell us what's broken and send a photo with the booking form. We'll scope it, give you a written estimate, and plan the work in phases or after hours so stalls, entrances and bin service stay open.

On commercial sites that need engineering, BC requires Letters of Assurance from the registered professionals, and we build to their drawings and field reviews.

Common questions

What is the typical height of a concrete curb?+

It depends on the curb's job. A parking curb or wheel stop is low; a curb at a drive aisle or sidewalk edge is taller, and street curb and gutter follows the City's standard. We build to your site drawing or match what's there.

Do concrete curbs have rebar in them?+

Poured curbs are usually reinforced, and the depth and steel follow the drawing or the curb's job. Precast wheel stops come with their own reinforcement and are pinned down.

What are dumpster pads?+

A reinforced concrete pad where the bin sits and the truck sets down to lift it. It's thicker than a parking slab because of the truck's front wheels.

How much do parking curbs or a concrete pad cost?+

We don't estimate blind, because size, access, digging, steel and finish move the number more than the concrete does. Send a photo and rough measurements with the booking form and John will tell you what drives the price on your job, then give you a written estimate after the site visit.
