New arched cedar gate with black hardware in Maple Ridge

Fencing & Gates

Fences and gates with posts set to stay straight

New builds and restorations in cedar, metal and mixed materials, designed to hold up through wet winters. Most fences fail at the posts, so that's where we start.

Built for wet ground

Fence posts fail from too little depth or a footing that traps water against the wood or steel. We dig to suit the soil and fence height, and shape the concrete to shed water, so the fence doesn't lean after its first wet winter.

Cedar gives a classic look; metal panels with cedar trim give a modern line and less upkeep. Many fences mix the two to balance cost, upkeep and look.

What's involved

Property line confirmation, post layout, footings, framing, panels or pickets, and gate hardware sized for daily use. Fence height and setbacks are set by your city's bylaws, and we check them before giving you an estimate.

Common questions

How deep should fence posts go?+

It depends on the soil, the fence height and wind exposure. Soft or wet ground and taller fences need deeper holes. We set the depth on site rather than using one number for every fence.

Can you fix my leaning fence without replacing it?+

Often. If the panels are sound, we pull and reset the failed posts. That means breaking out the old concrete plugs, which is most of the work.
